Geodes are a peculiar wonder of nature; they are formed from fluids which crystallize in cavities within a rounded rock or nodule. This means that what may seem to be a simple rock could very well be a geode, its core hiding a treasure trove of beautiful and intricate crystals. Generally, you'd have to break open the rocks before discovering the hidden crystals, but with this large open edition of the calcite geode, we've saved you the trouble. The two halves separate with ease to reveal their riches. Makes a great decoration for a desk and an interesting conversation piece for any office. This geode would also be of great use for teachers in a classroom environment or for geology buffs.

I ordered two of these for grand kids who are rock hounds. I thought they would be cut so you could see the interior crystals. But, they were whole uncut geodes. We do not have a diamond saw but I will try to get them cut some day. Otherwise, service was fine.

i recently used this geode at church to illustrate how God can take something so ugly on the outside and make it so beautiful on the inside.it went over really big.there's different beauty in ugliness.i will be ordering another soon. they are very pretty
