This specimen of copper ore comes straight from Arizona, USA! It is a type of rock from which copper can be extracted. This specimen features visible copper oxide, the green/turquoise-colored patterns. Copper oxide is formed on the surface due to exposure to astmospheric elements (oxygen/rain). The sample is large enough to serve as a paperweight, and makes for a great sample to be passed around in earth science classrooms. Makes a great gift for the mineral collector in your family!
