This handy battery shield can be used to power all of your science and electronics hobby projects. Great for teachers - no more wasting AA batteries! Just re-charge your 18650 lithium batteries over night and you are ready for a full day of class room experiments. With outputs of 3V and 5V DC you can use this shield with a variety of circuits with lightbulbs, buzzers, DC motors, LEDs, etc.

  • Max output current: 2.2 A
  • Includes battery over-charge and over-discharge protection
  • On/off switch
  • Two modes of operation: Normal (10s auto-shutoff) and Hold (always on)
  • Charging indication LEDs
  • requires two 18650 lithium rechargeable batteries (not included)

Operation Instructions:

  1. After installing two 18650 rechargeable batteries into the shield, you may charge them via a micro USB or USB-C connector. The four LEDs on the back of the module will indicate the charging process and how full the batteries are (up to four LEDs.)
  2. To use this power supply, you can either get output via the included standard USB connector, or you may solder your own connections to the five 3V outputs or five 5V outputs.
  3. To turn the module on, press the on/off button switch once, and to turn it off, press the same switch twice.
  4. You can also switch between two modes of operation: Hold and Normal. In the Normal mode, the module will automatically shut off after 10 seconds of inactivity (if the current you are drawing is less than 30 mA.) To avoid this auto-shut-off, use your module in the Hold mode, which will always keep the module on.
