This affordable and high-powered 3W COB sun-spectrum light chip is perfect for hobby projects. The chip itself measures 20mm in diameter but thanks to super-charged COB LED technology, this little chip emits an impressively bright light. Operating voltage is 9-12V (works great with a standard 9V battery). It comes with 4 inch (10cm) long black and red wire leads already soldered for easy connection to your circuit. Use it with a 9V battery (see battery holders below in related products) or with a solar cell.

Need to demonstrate how solar cells work indoors?
Get one of these 3W COB lights (powered by a 9V battery). See video to the left. This circuit has 2V 130mA solar cell attached to the yellow 2.3V LED. The artificial sun is provided by the powerful, yet affordable, 3W COB Sun-Spectrum LED which is powered by a standard 9V battery. Ambient indoor light in the room is not enough to power the solar cell and the yellow LED, however when you expose the solar cell to the 3W COB the yellow LED lights up. This circuit is great for teaching solar energy in the classroom.
