Good enough to make a rainbow on the wall using sunlight. The glass one is probably better, but I bought this to demonstrate for a 3 year old.

Great Addition to VBSRuth from Schellsburg, PA
I was so excited to see these plastic prisms on xump.com, as I needed prisms for experiments with light for our upcoming Vacation Bible School. They're safe for our littlest ones to use and do the trick for our older students to explore the qualities of different colors and kinds of light. My guess is that glass prisms are slightly stronger, but for what we need, these are perfect!
