Cyanotypes are photographs sometimes known as blueprints, sunprints, or sunlight prints. A photogram is a photographic image made without the use of a camera by placing objects on light-sensitized paper. Also called shadow prints or "Rayograph," after the artist Man Ray. Cyanotype paper is a light-sensitive coated paper. Sun Art Paper is cyanotype paper; when any objects that will fit inside the paper are placed between the paper and an acrylic sheet, after five minutes an imprint of the objects will be left on the paper. The paper is then rinsed and allowed to dry. The end result is a beautiful and delicate work of art; the objects you placed on the paper will have left a light blue imprint on the paper, contrasting with the paper’s deep blue coloring. Sun art is very easy to make, and magnificent to behold. Makes for a fun and creative sunny day activity!
