Dancing Oobleck Apparatus

Everything you need to setup your own dancing Oobleck (non-Newtonian fluid) apparatus! This is a fully assembled and tested kit. All you need to do is plug it in, mix your own corn-starch and water mix and start experimenting.

Oobleck is a mixture of corn starch and water, roughly 1 part water and 2-3 parts corn-starch. It is a non-Newtonian fluid, the viscosity of which depends not only on temperature and pressure but also on force applied and history of force applied. The speaker cone in this kit is what exerts that force on the Oobleck. You can experiment with different densities of Oobleck and different frequencies of the wave generator to get your Oobleck to dance in cool and unpredictable ways. You can also add food coloring to your Oobleck.

Kit includes:

• One Dancing Oobleck Amplifier
• One 6.5" subwoofer speaker capable of reproducing frequencies at or below 30Hz
• One 12V DC adapter to power the amplifier
• One headphone jack connector (to connect amplifier to your smartphone)
• You will need a smartphone with a free wave generator app, or you can use the stand-alone Signal Generator (see related items)

This product was a lifesaver for my sons science project. We saw all kinds of videos for dancing oobleck but did not know how to do the speaker part of the project. During a google search this product came up and we bought it. With supervision my son did his experiment with the judges and it worked great the oobleck danced just like in the videos.
