I especially like the built in light bulb and spare bulb that came with this unit. Great way to demonstrate several principles.

This is a great way to show the mechanical equivalent of electrical energy. Try cranking without the light bulb in place....you will feel very little resistance. Then screw in the light bulb. It is definitely harder to crank. Students can actually feel the mechanical energy that is being transformed into electricity.

The clear display is very nice.

I teach fourth and fifth graders and they used this constantly during our electricity work. They ran it fast for a bright light, slowly for a dim one. They attached it to a buzzer to see how fast they had to crank it to create 3 volts. They loved that it had the same motor in it that we were using in other experiments so they could see how a generator is the inverse of a motor. Very cool.
