Can't beat a demonstrator like this for showing standing waves. I use 80# braided fishing line across a 6' lab bench to increase the length, which is much more effective than the short distance of the frame. The hoop is a nice touch as an analogy for the e- standing wave around an atom, as are the metal bars of different lengths to show resonance. It is sensitive to leveling and can get stuck from time to time. It was expensive, and I bought this sort of worried that it would be a piece of junk, but so far so good. I have only used it for about a month now, so hopefully it lasts.
