Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate. It is a very common mineral, particularly as a component of limestone. Calcite defines hardness 3 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, based on scratch hardness comparison.
You will get a set of ten Calcite cleavages approximately 1 inch in size.
Great for classroom rock collections, science fair projects, and geology demonstrations.
Please be aware that this is a natural mineral, and as such, each piece is one of a kind! The set you receive may not be the same as the ones pictured, but it will be similar. Rocks come in irregular shapes, sizes and weights.
