Rose quartz is a type of quartz which is pale pink to rose red due to trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese. Rose quartz is usually massive - meaning that it doesn’t form crystals.

According to archaeological records Rose Quartz was used as early as the 800-600 B.C. by the Assyrians. Later it became popular with the Greeks & Romans
Rose quartz: Strong pink, pale pink. Coloring agent is titanium. Traces of included rutile needles cause six-rayed stars when cut en cabochon. Larger clear stones can be faceted. Rose quartz crystals tend to be cloudy, which deepens the color. Transparent crystals are extremely rare.
