Litmus paper is a crucial supply for any laboratory, and is used in classrooms of all grade levels. These one hundred red strips of litmus paper can be used to determine the pH category of a substance. By way of a mixture of dyes extracted from lichens, they tell you whether the substance is acidic or basic. If the substance is acidic, the paper remains red. If the substance is a base, the paper will shift its color to blue, allowing you to know whether you’re dealing with an acid or a base in your experiments.
