Bumper Cars - Pair

A set of 2 plastic bumper cars, designed to carry magnets and demonstrate the attractive and repulsive properties of magnets with unlike and like poles.  Each car has four vertical recessions, perfect for holding ring magnets.  Each car also has a circular center recession, perfect for holding ring mangets arranged horizontally.  When the cars containing magnets are arranged such that unlike poles face one another, the cars will be attracted to one another, and move as a unit.  However, when the cars containing magnets are arranged such that like poles face one another, the cars will repel each other.  That means that you can push one car around using the repulsive force of the magnets in the other car.; thus, you can push the 2nd car around without actually touching the first one to it.  An excellent and affordable classroom kit for demonstrating basic magnetic properties; can also be used in a wide variety of science fair projects.
