Learn to code by playing a video game! The kit features three stages: Gaming, Coding and Making. First off, construct your controller by inserting the KosmoDuino (fully Arduino-compatible) microcontroller, buttons, and interaction board into the plastic casing provided. In the Gaming stage, connect the physical and digital worlds! Use the gamepadd to play throught 15 fun game levels on your tablet. Plug one of the four sensorbots into the gamepad to activate its special powers. Each sensorbot features a different interactive feature dealing with motion, temperature, light, or sound, that has a corresponding effect in-game. For example, Kelvin melts blocks of ice when you warm the temperature sensor with your hand, Decibel clears a path fro you when you bombard the sound sensor with noise, Lumen reveals things hidden in dark spaces when you shine light on the light sensor, and Newton forces its way through obstacles when you shake the motion sensor.
In the Coding section, learn the basics of the Arduino programming language level by level! Solve the increasingly complex Arduino puzzles in order to advance the game and learn more about the gamepad technology. Discover which program codes make the LEDs on your gamepad blink and make the sound module wail. Learn how the gamepad works, and how you can configure it yourself. There is also a level editor that lets you set your own levels and unlock them for other CodeGamer players in the app.
In the Making section, become a programmer and apply your knowledge to cool projects! Use the sensors in new applications to bring your own project ideas to life. Program the light sensor to count how many time somebody opens your drawer, and program your own sensor-controlled musical instrument. Enter the digital maker's world and unleash your creativity!
