The trilobite is an animal that first appeared on earth over 600 million years ago. They lived in shallow seas and were crawlers, burrowers and swimmers. Both the beautiful and the bizarre can be seen in the different ways these creatures are represented. The term “trilobite” comes from the three different lobes that make up its head. Nine orders of trilobites are recognized, with over 15,000 different species placed in each order! That’s a lot of info on trilobites to memorize----why not just get one? This trilobite is still embedded in the rock it was found in. Now you can have your very own, right on your desk or in your living room. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a real-life fossil to show to your students, friends or family? This is a great learning tool as well. Not recommended for excavation, as there is a danger of trilobite breaking.
Note: Please be aware that this is a natural fossil and as such each piece is one of a kind! The one you receive may not be exactly the same as the one pictured but it will be similar. They come in irregular shapes, sizes and weights.
