This is a 10mm x 10mm x 10mm cube of almost pure (99.95% pure) Nickel metal. It features laser etched symbol, name, atomic number and atomic weight in the front of the cube and density (8.908 g/cm^3) and purity in the back.
Nickel is a chemical element with the symbol Ni, atomic number 28 and atomic weight of 58.69. It is a silvery-white lustrous metal with a slight golden tinge. Nickel belongs to the transition metals and is hard and ductile. Nickel is one of four elements (the others are iron, cobalt, and gadolinium) that are ferromagnetic at room temperature. Alnico permanent magnets based partly on nickel are of intermediate strength between iron-based permanent magnets and rare-earth magnets.
