This is a cool, old-fashioned thermodynamic hand boiler toy that is made of hand-blown glass. The liquid inside these beautiful boilers shoots up the tubes and appears to boil when you hold it in your hand. It makes an excellent stocking stuffer for the holidays, or a great classic desk toy for the office setting.

The hand boilers are good science toys to teach change of phase and the expansion of liquid as it turns into a gas. They do not teach Charles' Law as the box incorrectly tries to teach.They break sometimes, and the red and purple are my favorite, green doesn't look so good.

I use these regularly to start my energy transfer lessons. They definitely engage people of all ages, They are fragile though so my 7th graders tend to break them too easily. If I am not using them, I put them away.
