Our planet is surrounded by a network of stars whose illumination perforates the darkness of space like small holes in the surface of a blanket bundled tight around our solar system.  As with every possible point, ours constitutes a unique center of the universe from which to view the vastness of creation.  This Celestial Star Globe provides an adjustable and customizeable visual representation of this phenomenon from an omniscient perspective outside of the spectacle, allowing you to study the positions, luminosity, and distance of the stars relative to our blue and green rock and the Sun that illuminates it.

The unique 12" diameter globe and 3.3" world globe may be rotated independently. The meridian can be tilted to adjust the globe for latitude while the horizon ring indicates the actual horizon in relation to the point of observation on Earth. The Sun can be set by adjusting the sun knob located near the North Pole.  The outer globe can be set to reflect constellation positions according to time and place to show the actual positions of the stars.

The globe has been printed on the inside so that a crayon or dry erase marker may be used to notate positions of the planets or the moon on the outside. Includes a detailed Study Guide with nine different classroom activities, and a National Standards Correlation sheet is included.  A crucial and hands-on addition to an astronomy lab or high-school earth science classroom.

  • Planetarium globe (12" diameter) with stars printed on the translucent interior
