Pyrolusite is a form of Manganese Dioxide. It is prismatic steel gray with radiating iron black fibers. The geode is formed in volcanic eruptions. Pyrolusite is used to prepare disinfectants. It is part of the coloring ingredients used in printing, and in the manufacture of green and violet paints. It adds violet, amber and black colors to glass, pottery and bricks.
This geode was discovered in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, North Africa.
